Is a sour-grass forest; or at least that's what the kids call it…
Really it is a strip of land between our yard and a lavender citrus farm, so dense in
scraggly oaks that you feel like you entered a woods of some sort...
Oh I feel so lucky…
California is a beautiful rough landscape, mixed and varied, mostly dry…
Yet here and there a rare pocket of dark and wonderfully dap…
Around here I crave moister… Ferns and undergrowth; as delectable as a rich chocolate cake…
All these pictures were taken a little while back before the weather got warm...
Hopefully we can coax a little more cool weather before the summer axis is in full tilt.
