Playdough Playing...

Well for reasons that can only be reasons, we needed to make playdough...
I love making playdough; the fun choices of colors that are always
so much nicer than store bought florescent rainbows...
The ingredients are simple and fun, especially pouring so much salt, it seems like playing already...
And then I ask, what does a twelve year old make with playdough??
Well here is what one twelve-year-old made...
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend ~ Marica

Playdough Recipe

Mix together:
3 1/2 cups flour
1/2 salt
1 tablespoon cream of tartar

In a separate bowl mix:
2 cups boiling water
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon food coloring

Mix both bowls together stirring vigorously.
Knead until perfect consistency.

  1. I love making playdough too!! So therapeutic, especially kneading the warm dough. We used to make it all the time when I taught preschool. And yes, pretty much everything about homemade playdough is better than those little plastic tubs! Love the creation, too!

    1. Yeah, there always seems to be more playdough needed in preschool : ) Hope your adventures in europe are still going well… Hugs, Marica

  2. Hi Marica!!!
I've never made playdough looks so much fun!!!
she made a so scary creature...LOL!!!!
    Have a wonderful week end!

  3. Your playdough looks about like mine looks... I just read something on another blog that said they use quite a few drops, maybe up to 15, of glycerin and it gives it that smooth feeling you find in the store-bought playdoughs... worth a shot. I'll try it soon and report back if it works! Nice creature she made there! lol

    1. Thanks so much Jennifer!!! Hopw you have a wonderful weekend )
